Viele fragen immer warum wir uns ausgerechnet Costa Rica ausgesucht haben. Da gibt es einige Gründe:
Die Tierwelt Costa Ricas ist unglaublich vielfältig! Unterschiedliche Vegetationszonen, sowie zahlreiche Naturschutzgebiete sorgen in Costa Rica für eine atemberaubende Artenvielfalt. Obwohl Costa Rica ein relativ kleines Land ist, befinden sich hier ca. 6 % der weltweiten Arten, was bedeutet, dass mehr als 500.000 nachgewiesene Arten in Costa Rica vertreten sind. Da es ist nur etwas größer als Niedersachsen ist, sind auch die Wege sehr kurz. Auf unserer geplante Rundreise werden wir „nur“ etwa 1200 km im Auto sitzen (ausschließlich zwischen den Hotels und ohne die Ausflüge gerechnet). Auch wenn die zulässige Höchstgeschwindigkeit sehr gering ist, ist dieser Punkt mit einem jungen Kind nicht zu vernachlässigen und auch wir Erwachsenen haben wenig Lust „tagelang“ im Auto zu sitzen, um von einem Ort zum nächsten zu reisen. Weiterhin ist es ein sehr sicheres Reiseland mit einer guten Infrastruktur. Schlussendlich sorgt die Nähe zu den USA dafür, dass man mit Englisch das ganze Land problemlos bereisen kann.

The animal world of Costa Rica is incredibly diverse! Different vegetation zones and numerous nature reserves ensure a breathtaking biodiversity in Costa Rica. Although Costa Rica is a relatively small country, around 6% of the world’s species are found here, which means that more than 500,000 confirmed species are represented in Costa Rica. Since it is only a little larger then Lower Saxony, the distances are also very short. On our planned round trip we will „only“ be sitting in the car for around 1200 km (exclusively between the hotels and not including the excursions). Even if the maximum permitted speed is very low, this point cannot be neglected with a young child and we adults also have little desire to sit in the car „for days“ to travel from one place to the next. Furthermore, it is a very safe travel destination with a good infrastructure. Finally, the proximity to the USA ensures that you can travel the entire country without any problems, if you speak English.
